Excellence in Education Award
Mayor Bart Peterson has honored Indianapolis Met with the Excellence in Education Award for its partnership with Clarian Health.

Through the Learning Through Internship curriculum, Clarian Health is using 30 Indianapolis Met student interns in its four hospitals, engaging them in meaningful health care-related tasks specifically designed around student interests.

The students are required to engage in research related to their internships and have full access to Clarian's libraries, facilities and networks in order to do so.

The internship opportunity was sought out by Indianapolis Met because of the large number of its students interested in health-care professions.

About 50 students, school and city officials and representatives from Clarian Health attended an awards presentation on Oct. 26 during which the mayor presented a proclamation to Indianapolis Met and Clarian Health recognizing this achievement.

Since Mayor Peterson took office, he has given monthly awards to a different school, person or organization for outstanding achievements in education.
