  Why Indianapolis Met?

  • Students work with a teacher-advisor and parent/guardian to determine a course of study based on their needs and interests
  • Classes are small with only 16 students
  • Students work in unpaid internships two days a week to explore their career interests
  • College-level courses and college preparation are part of the curriculum
  • Family involvement is stressed throughout the student's education
  • Students stay with the same teacher all four years of high school
  • Indiana Academic Standards and required core subjects are integrated into students' work
  • The Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) test in the spring and fall establishes a baseline for academic progress
  • Assessment is a public exhibition of students' work four times per year
  • A summer immersion program helps new students learn about the school culture, design and expectations
  • A post high school plan focuses on college entry and success

Indianapolis Met is a school that not only helps Amanda explore what she wants to be; she has the freedom to think and then is given the freedom to go and get a taste of her interests through internships.
That's pretty powerful."
